Railroad Tycoon 3: Won't start up on my macbook!

Hi All,
I've got a MacBook, OS X 10.4.1 with a 2.16 intel processor, 1gb memory 256 harddrive.
I purchased RT3 in an Apple Store the other day and despite the cashier's asking around whether or not it would work on my macbook, she gave the go-ahead and said it should.
However, I've installed it and the application won't start up at all. The screen will change, then I come back to the desktop and get a notice saying the application quit unexpectedly. I've tried various different things and keep getting this result.
Does anyone have an idea of how I can remedy this, or am I doomed with the particular macbook I've got?

Well you have a problem but it isn't your MacBook.

I am having a almost identical problem on my Macbook, except that instead of unexceptionally quitting, it just shows a blank dialog box with a "OK" Button.

RT3 works fine on my Macbook. I don't know what to tell you.

I fixed it

It has to be installed in the /Applications/ directory on your STARTUP DRIVE

Thanks for the info, Timothy. Since I'm not the most technical in terms of computers, might you be able to tell me how I can install it there instead of the standard installation? Thanks again
