Is there any others who are having trouble with Raise to Talk on AW 5? I cannot seem to get it to work at all.

Thanks

Other than what StumpyBloke suggested, make sure you direct your voice into the mic hole, between the crown and power button. This has been flawless for me.

Raise to Talk has never worked for me. It wastes a lot of battery anyway so I’ve turned it off.

I’ve had trouble with it too. I find that it’s more reliable if you put your mouth right up next to the watch, super close.

I think it would be a great feature, but I've never gotten it to work consistently on my AW 5. I think it should be effortless, simply raise your wrist from any kind of position, talk, Siri is triggered. Instead I always feel like I have to make a precise movement of the wrist, start to talk at exactly the right moment at exactly the right volume...and it still fails at least 50% of the time or even more. It is a very frustrating experience. I reverted to simply long pressing the Digital Crown to invoke Siri. I will try again, once they've implemented the feature properly.

Thanks. Guess I will leave raise to wake disabled and use the other options to access Siri.
Battery more important to me.

I only use Siri via the Digital Crown because “Hey Siri” uses a lot of battery too.

Do you use a screen protector? I found that when I had one on, Raise to Talk rarely worked. I happened to decide to go protector free and now it works regularly.

No, I haven’t found one that doesn’t look like crap. I rely on my case to protect the screen. With it own my screen is recessed.

The battery impact is so small, it isn’t measured by Apple. It isn’t even close to 1 percent. No need to turn the feature off.

Thanks. Still disabled it as it is not working for me. In any case, if I still have to raise my wrist to make it work, i might as well just say 'Hey Siri' or press the crown

Hmmm. I guess you are lucky. I got it to work once in the last 4 weeks since I got the watch 5 and I tried many times.

For those it’s not working, try this...
If you wear your watch on your left wrist with crown on the upper right, raise your wrist to your face and touch your punching knuckles to your right cheek. Your mouth should now be aimed right at the microphone. Start speaking when your knuckles touch your cheek. I’ve never had an issue with “Raise to Speak” but I just tried this and got a 10/10 by asking “What time is it?” The Watch has to be awake for it to work so if you have “Raise to Wake” off, nothing will work.
