Hello

I tried to search for this but I could not find anything.

I accidentally pulled too hard on the right metal connecting arm for the front RAM stick and it broke off. The RAM seems to still fit just fine in the slot but I was wondering if this something I should get fixed asap? How much would apple charge for something like this? Thanks for your help!

My guess is Apple would charge to replace the logic board (a lot).

Search at https://locate.apple.com/ for an authorized repair shop near you and ask them. Be prepared to get the answer above.

Is the left side connecting arm still intact? If so, that should be good enough to hold the RAM in place and I wouldn't worry about it.

Perhaps there is enough "tension" left with only the one clip to hold the RAM in place.

If you start getting errors, I would suggest you REMOVE the RAM from that slot, and then buy the largest DIMM you can for the remaining "good slot", and just use the Mini that way for the remainder of its life...

I wonder if I can try and fix the arm somehow .. possibly some plastic welding?

I am surprised more people have not done this before it really wasn't that hard to break it .. I did not put too much force on it.

If the ram slot works, quit playing around with it. All that matters is that the computer recognizes the ram. Since this is a MacMini, not a laptop, it should have no movement that would jostle the ram out of the slot, so just close it up and be happy the ram is being recognized.

Or you could just pay about 300 or 400 bucks for a new logic board from Apple.
