Can you mix an 8gb module with a 4gb module in the mac pro for a 2009 or the new 2010? I was wondering if I get an 8gb module do I have to keep my ram config. at all 8gb modules or can I mix with 4gb or 2gb modules? Thanks!!!

Also has anybody found a good place to buy ram besides OWC?

I haven't bought from these guys yet, but probably will after I get a new MP.

You'll probably get more help with your memory questions if you specify exactly what Mac Pro you have...

8GB DIMMs are Registered ECC. As the 2009/2010 Mac Pros only support Unbuffered ECC all Mac Pro specific memory modules are UDIMMs except 8GB. The two types can't be mixed. You should be able to mix them with other capacity RDIMMs just fine, but I've not seen any that are supported.
