Ram for new 27" imac

Hi,

Need some help, I'm planning on buying the 27" imac icore5 when it comes out with 8mg ram. I want to upgrade to 16mg, thought of going through crucial.com. My question is can I just add an additional 8mg using 2 -4's or do I have to buy 16mg (2- 8's) and replace the 8 it comes with?
