C clintz macrumors newbie Original poster Oct 7, 2012 #1 Just wondering which option is better. I have a 2010 imac and it has 2 x 2 gig of ram, I recently just bought 2 x 4 gig, to upgrade. my question is the iMac has four slots so is it advisable to use all 4 ram sticks or just the 2 x 4. thankyou.

Click to expand... You can use all 4 if you like. Your iMac can use up to 16GB or 32GB, depending on which model you have.
