Just got my mid 2012 map with 4 gb. RAM . It is the i5 2.5. I have upgraded to SSD and am looking to do a RAM upgrade. Is it worth going to 8 gb or should I save up a bit more and go for the 16 gb. Would I notice much difference with the 8 gb. The SSD seems to have made a big difference in speed.

Thank you.

Going from 4 to 8 is arguably a bigger improvement than from 8 to 16 for an average user.

Get the 16. You probably won't notice a difference. However for a small increase in price, you will never have to ask yourself "should I buy more RAM for this machine" again. It is totally worth it. : )

Gotta agree with @leman. RAM prices are through the roof right now, and more than 8GB for a regular user would be a waste. What will you be using your MacBook Pro for?
