I bought the same ram on Amazon. I had trouble getting it recognized at first and had to shuffle the DIMMs around. Worth a try...

Also I think the 8-core runs at 2400MHZ. Which processor do you have?

You can find Hynix ram online - "Supermicro certified Hynix" is what I would use IMO. Can you still return that ram? If you're seeing issues upfront running full speed, or like @tanoanian mentioned having to fiddle I would return that ram ASAP as you're only asking for issues down the road.

For the record - 8 Core runs at 2666 MHz. No need for false information here.

To the OP:

Have you reset the PRAM and SMC?

No need to fill up all slots for the correct speed to run!

Also might be worth it to check the label on one of the modules you got.

Thanks Lou, did all that, nothing helped and all the labels are marked 2933MHz.
So I guess dont buy Nemix Ram, even tho some Youtubers said it works perfectly.

Did anyone try the OWC memory yet?

^^^^Since it's Amazon, returns should be easy, but it's from a third party seller. My RAM supplier for a number of years has been:

Quality stuff, Mac Specialists and Lifetime Warranty.

I have the same RAM from Nemix and it works perfectly. You might have a bad batch. OWC and DMS are fine if you like overpaying for RAM. Oh and Nemix has the same lifetime guarantee and offers a Veteran's discount.

Have the 192GB Nemix kit in a 12 core and says running at 2933. Benchmarks at the high end of what other people have posted from Geek Bench.

My 96GB kit is sitting on my desk, waiting for my Mac Pro to arrive...
