Unfortunatly, Quicktime cannot handle Real formats, its a proprietary format.

In order to convert a format, you must first be able to read the format. Real is proprietary. Only Real can read Real. Real has no incentive to convert files in Real format to more open competing formats.

That is why I truly hate real format, we cannot do anything with it other than use the real player that I do not like.

If you're really desperate, you can get a screen recording tool (Snapz Pro X ($) but there are free ones i think), and just record the area where the video is playing.
