    Hey,

I got a brand new macbook air with 4gb ram. Is there a way to upgrade to 2x4GB ram modules? Maybe not directly through apple but through a 3rd party.. Anyone successfully done it?

No, the ram in the Air is soldered to the motherboard and is not replaceable

Yes this, in addition I believe that the system is limited to 4GB anyway.

The chipset actually supports more, so the limiting factor is that it's soldered onto the Logic Board.
