NuRAM works

My 8GB of NuRAM arrived yesterday. I've installed it and it boots up as 8GB. That's good enough for me (as long as it lasts).

Thanks for the info on this deal. I wonder how long this offer will last because I just purchased an SSD and don't have any more safe funds to tap into lol.

BTW, I use the NewerTech mini stack enclosure plugged into my AEBS, and it's been great for the year or so I've had it.

I was linked into this thread from a 8gb ram question I posted ...

I am going to make the jump and try out the NuRam its Cas Latency is 7 and can't complain about the price! Thanks you guys for turning me on to it!

I have the latest Macbook Pro 15 inch with the high res screen and antiglare. Ordered the 8GB NuRAM kit and sad to say it hasn't been completely smooth for me so far.

The MBP booted up with the screen flickering. I've recorded it on video here:

Switching to full time nVidia discrete graphics with gfxCardStatus fixed it, but if its on Dynamic or Intel only the flicker is there.

Emailed OWC but haven't received a reply so far :(

I've been very happy with OWC in the past, ordered my Seagate Momentus XT and a few other things from them.

Paultantk from the illustrious paultan.org...?

Anyway, have you tried their Live Chat Support...?

NuRAM is relatively new to me, that I chose OWC modules instead though they were slightly more expensive.

Prices now around half of earlier posts...

Sorry to resurrect an old thread, but it was the 1st Google result when looking for OWC vs NuRAM.

1. From the OWC Sales Team (I am from Australia):
"Both meet apple specs but OWC has a lifetime advance replacement warranty. However that does not apply to international customers. For international the warranties are the same so buy the NuRAM if it is cheaper."

FYI: I found this out about 5 mins after ordering the OWC branded stock. But the price difference isn't that big (see below)

2. Prices are half those from 6 months ago. So NuRAM is around $99 and the OWC brand is only $109... So if you're eyeing off those shiny new machines but don't have the $$$... fear not, your old machine just became even cheaper to upgrade!
