Ram upgrade q

Does the brand of ram matter? I. Bought two 1gb ram made by two diff brands... Will I still get the same performance?

That was a mistake. You need to have the same brand of RAM in the same machine.

No you don't.

You'll get better performance as said above from matched pairs in terms of size/speed, but brand shouldn't matter.

Some MBs seem more sensitive than others, but it shouldn't matter.
