evening,

after installing something via the Macromedia Extension Manager (while it might be unrelated) my activity monitor is showing some very strange issues.

the process "mdimport" is eating 2/3 of my RAM, then it goes downt o 120kb, then back to the top of my real memory usage and CPU usage. the piechart is showing back and forth fluctuations non-stop.

what does this process do? how to correct it?

It's for Spotlight from memory. How long has it been happening? 🙂
it just started tonight, the only change to the system was installing an extension for Flash 8. might i make spotlight reindex my harddrive? not sure what that would do, but thought i'd throw it out.

p.s. - i always appreciate your help, thanks a million.
