I wish I would have taken a picture of the message I ran into.

Something like: this can't be installed - run into a problem

I googled it and found something about changing the clock (what?).

Anyone might have an idea about this?

PS - fresh install from a bootable Sierra USB.

PS2 - perhaps the message was about the OS being damaged?
 
It may be a problem with the signing certificate for the install having expired. You may need to download a fresh copy and use it for the install.

appreciate that! The downloaded copy is fresh, I think. I downloaded it 3 or 4 days ago. So this can't be it, I suppose.
 
I'm having the same problem. Sierra installer says file is damaged. I tried from six different sites and using Safari, nothings working.
I tried the show package contents, delete nstallInfo.plist trick, now can't create bootable installer.
