Random alert or tone?

Got a new iPhone and am getting a random alert or tone, but can't seem to see why. It happens about two or three times daily, and its got a full battery. Its also not a scheduled alert, so don't really know. Any idea?

What kind of tone? Are you sure it is not the missed call, voice mail, sms, or email tone?

Yeah, thanks, it was the new email alert. Sheesh, this thing has a mind of its own!
