My Apple Watch Ultra (Gen 1) on WatchOS 10.1 has started randomly vibrating. Noticed it once yesterday, then again just now.

No notification comes up on the screen, just normal snoopy watch face. No notifications in the notification centre.

It’s 3 buzzes, then 3 short buzzes, 2 longer buzzes and 3 short buzzes.

Really baffling me!

Maybe its notifications you have on silence however the apple watch hasn't put them on silence
Nope. I’ve not got any set to silent and as I stated, there’s no notifications in the Notification Centre on the watch or phone.

Are you in the UK, or in the Greenwich time zone?

could be haptic time, it will tap out the time on your wrist, it's triggered with a 2 finger long touch.
in "terse mode" those taps would be 6:45 pm, You posted at 1:47pm eastern time (US), 6:45 would be the equivalent GMT

I’m in the UK, and that was the time.

Seems like this was it….. but….

I wasn’t touching the watch though. Nothing was touching the screen, I was reading a book at the time, so it seems to have done it spontaneously.

Must be a bug.

if your arm was resting on something, or there was some sort of contamination (dust, liquid, oil) that a quick wash might take care of.

a couple things to try
-rebooting the watch
-unpairing, and re-pairing the watch. (may not help here)

another option is a battery that's going bad and starting to swell, I've seen people mention that can cause phantom touches on the watch. inspect the seam between the glass and body of the watch (and continue to check daily), if you notice any separation at all, immediately take the watch off, and store it outside away from flammable materials, until you can take it to apple for a checkout.

It wasn’t resting on anything, no dust or anything on it.

The watch isn’t even a year old, no indication of battery swelling/seperation.

I’ve updated to 10.1.1 so maybe that’s gonna sort it, even by accident.

Something similar happened to me. There was nothing it was notifying me about. I turned off assistive touch and it stopped. So maybe try that if you have it on

My ultra 2 does this sometimes. It's not in my head as the haptic is strong on this watch.
