random PC on my network

i do not have protection enabled - i have a mac address filter enabled - so no one should be able to hop on my network as such


any other ideas?

MAC address filtering is easy to bypass by spoofing. Don't rely on that for your security. The minimum that I would call "safe" is WPA, with a good passkey.

In such a case I would disconnect everything and disable the airport. Then add one piece at a time and see when it appears.

okay for sure let me try enabling WPA and disconnecting everything, adding it one by one and seeing if it pops up again

Same Problem

Did you ever resolve this?

I have the exact same problem. I went to WPA and MAC address filtering on my airport extreme and I still get the Macinstosh-2 computer showing up.

have you checked that its not your modem?? i know mine is a router type modem and automatically adds itself to the list of everything.
