Randomly having to sign into iMessage/Facetime again?

This happened on my home iMac when I returned from a trip. It asked me for my password to sign into iMessage and Facetime again, and it caused notifications on my phone an iPad.

Does anyone else have this problem? What triggers it?

Was this trip to a point in your country or to another country? Maybe going to another countries iCloud service can cause this.

Nope. Also, the Mac in question never moved at all; it was powered down for four days while I was away.

I live in Miami and was away in Atlanta. That's not even very far!

OK. Then go to AppleMyID and maybe reset you apple Password. Maybe this will help.
