Hmm since last week OS X will randomly try and boot from whatever USB devices I have attached. You can hear it search all the drives, spin up the DVD drive then stick the pretty folder with a ? on the screen. If I power off and try again it'll either do the same, or successfully boot. If I unplug all USB devices it boots fine. Kinda funny observation, at one point I had no devices attached apart from some Christmas fairly lights (USB) and it seemed the Mac tried to boot from these... which clearly wasn't going to work!

So, any idea why my Mac pro / Leopard has decided it'll boot from anywhere except the default volume? Luckily I dont have to reset often (unless bloody WoW/iTunes hardware locks the machine again!), but I really dont like having to unplug all the external drives, camera, printer etc etc every time.

Help!
