That looks really cool, but it doesn't look like it does push notifications. That's the one last feature I'd want.

Yes, thanks to our server, Range OI (and the current Range) do push notifications to any device across the Internet, as long as one device is connected to the thermometer. Wireless range is not an issue. The Williams Sonoma WiFi thermometer is the only other thermometer that can do this, but it gets terrible reviews for being unreliable.

We've thought hard on how to give you useful cooking information without making you open the app and constantly watch it, and push notifications are critical to that. It's also how we send you a reminder that your oven is on when you leave the house.

Re: responsibility. We're not some jackasses who had an idea and no experience. We're a small company that develops and manufactures products. We've been late, but always deliver what we promise. With last year's Range, we couldn't get it to work reliably with European devices, so we offered to refund any EU backers.

I will never back another kick-starter project with the hope of getting a reward.

I won't either, unless I am paying a ridiculously small percentage of the products value I do not want to take risk when purchasing a product. I want to know that I am getting a functional product or a product at all. Kickstarter rewards people before they cross the finish lines with their products, which in some cases may remove the incentive for them to finish or they may just limp across the finish line.
