Rant on Family Sharing

I am so annoyed by apples implementation of iCloud drive and iCloud photo library. 2 main things: Why can't my wife and I share the same iCloud drive storage for backups and why can't we share an iCloud photo library. I don't want to manually "share" photos with my wife. I just want them to all be the same. I was so hopeful but am so disappointed in apple. This doesn't seem like this should be that hard to do.
