if Intel is pushing it for their systems, Microsoft won't delay too long.
Not to thread jack, but I presumed that they would still rely on the BIOS compatibility module similar to the way Boot Camp already works...

On topic, isn't this an MSN virus that affects Windows rather than a Windows virus. I don't IM, but if I did would using only AIM be sufficient protection.

Hopefully my parent's computer will get this virus and then I will buy them a 17" iMac.:D

If you know what you are doing, you can send the virus to them... although I seriouisly hope you aren't serious. No one deserves to have a virus, not even PC users.

Yeah you gotta understand a WINDOWS virus can only
affect your Windows partition.

It can't sneak across the HD to your Mac OSX partition
although if you share your e-mail across both platforms
you could end up with more e-mail spam.
While that may be true right now, I'm not convinced it will always stay this way. Eventually viruses will be created to "see" OS X; after all, the easiest way to attack OS X would be through Windows. For example, I'm sure it's only a matter of time before we see a windows virus that simply formats the entire HDD (including OS X).

There are viruses that erase the entire hard drive (Argyle).

Well kind of. You could still get the virus I guess, but whether it would send itself on to everyone else in your contact list I don't know. When you click the link, it gets Windows to run coding, not the IM. So I guess it is a Windows virus...

He he. It's so strange becuase people are so paranoid about viruses. I mean, seriusly. I have fought this before, and i will now (In a civil way of course, we are not school children) But when you are properly backed up, and know what you are doing, then you are good. I would like to say I am invinceable when it comes to viruses.

It disables your antivirus? Well, don't harm me, I don't even use that crap, keeps my speed and productivity up. I reinstall my OS every 30 or so days, takes less than an hour, and a friend of mine made some sort of unatended cd, that autmatically installs my top programs and stuff. So I'm up and running, I just go to work, and let it do it all for me, come back, turn on the monitor, and I'm good.

I have never had a virus, only some spyware, but an OS reinstall fixes that.
It sounds dangerous to run a computer without antivirus, but ur not that vulnerable, unless you like going to questionable sites or downloading illegal programs or attatchments and what not. If I have a file that I want, and I think it's virus worthy, my friend checks it out for me, whom has Norton, which I used to use.

But, viruses aren't things you just brush off your shoulder. But to think you say that that OS reinstall is a pain in the butt, but while my mac sits to my left, I'm still using my windows machin, becuase, well, I dunno why. Mac is superior, yes, but I just keep coming back to windows, I'm in a productive, and multimedia rich enviroment, and Windows is where I belong, sad, but true.

Don't get me wrong, I LOVE my Macbook!
