I've heard questionable things about the build quality also things to consider while this is an i7 it is a dual-core i7 with HT so 4 threads total; MBPs can get actual i7s quads with 8 threads. Personally I'd rather hold out hope apple releases a TB3 enabled MBP and buy the enclosure for the eGPU

So essentially you're getting a Macbook Air with a better screen and TB3, not dissing the choice but what you're getting from Razer is the same price you would have paid for a Macbook of similar specs

The closest equivalent MacBook in specs is the maxed-out 13" MBP at $600 more than the top-end Razer Blade Stealth. And, none of the new MacBooks have useable ports or a touchscreen.

why? apples and oranges.

the macbook weighs nearly a pound less, has longer battery life (as low as 6 for one razer model), and it comes (as all apple stuff does) with phenomenal customer support (razer is mail order in us). when you encounter problems, this support is worth the apple tax, in my opinion.

the razer is very nice looking, and obviously better suited for gaming, but buying a similarly spec'd model (mid to upper range) is roughly the same price. the big difference (spec wise) is obviously the processor and graphics; if these are your priorities, the mb is not for you.

the rmb is made for portability first, the razer is made for gaming. nothing to cringe about, just different priorities.

Actually, you have to pay an extra $250 to get that 'phenomenal' customer support for the life of the computer on top of the 'Apple tax'. The Razer Blade Stealth isn't a gaming computer, though it is made by a company that specializes in gaming machines; it is an ultrabook (maximized power for ultimate portability), designed for business professionals who want a powerful computer on the go. It is powerful enough to play some games on the go, and there is an external GPU available to turn it into a top-end gaming computer. Even if any of the new MacBooks had the ports to support an external GPU, I'm not sure what the virtue would be of using one if you are bound to using Windows in Boot Camp anyway.

I will grant that the Razer Blade Stealth only has 9 hours of battery life (the same as my current 11" MBA and enough to power me through a work-day), which is less than the 12 hours of battery life on the 13" MBA the RBS is designed to compete with. However, pound-for-pound it has as much power as a maxed-out 13" MBP at the same weight.

Why don't you just say, "It's not for me. I love Apple more than anyone in my life, and I will never leave the Apple ecosystem, no matter what."

Edit: I didn't realize I was responding to a nearly year old thread. Bad etiquette. All apologies, but I stand by my statements. Hopefully, the OP can give us an update as this discussion has become especially relevant again.
