Because I haven't seen too many people considering alternatives to the Apple Smart Keyboard here's a short review.

I recently got the keyboard and simply it is a delight to type on, the case does have a kick stand and a back cover and the keyboard is detachable.

The kickstand doesn't fully close but it doesn't bother me too much and it does add a bit of weight. The typing experience in general is great, took a bit to get used to but the jumpy mechanical keyboard really is a delight to type on.

The only complaint for me is that it is obnoxiously loud. Like seriously loud, for those who have the 2016 MBP, it's louder than that, so if you don't like loud key noises then I wouldn't recommend this to you.

In terms of other info: it needs charging every few days, uses a micro usb port, a line comes with it but no wall plug.

TLDR: Great keyboard, love the mechanical switch, but REALLY loud.

One question, does the Razer allow to use the iPad in portrait mode somehow?

Sadly no, the keyboard attachment obviously allows it only to be used in landscape mode and the kickstand in the back of the case could be used to put it up in portrait mode but I don't think a viewing angle of 90degrees is suitable for normal usage :)

well, loud sound goes with the territory for mechanical keyboards. :D

I've used mechanical keyboards for decades. I'm not a fan, but for those who are, it is nice to see that there is a great solution for them.

yeah... I just figured that since it wasn't highlighted by reviewers it wouldn't be too loud but boy was I in for a surprise.

Nevertheless, I just love that bouncy keystroke, quite satisfying with each press :p

Looks interesting, but the price is a deterrent for me at this time.

I have bounced the idea around for some time now on whether I want to drop the Smart Keyboard & Silicone Back combo and make the switch to the Razer Keyboard. I bought the Black Widow keyboard upon the completion of my gaming PC, and it truly is a dream to type on. The mechanical keys in my opinion make it a very pleasant typing experience. At the end of the day though, I still hate to being limited to basically using my iPad Pro as a laptop at all times vs being able to just unsnap my SmartKeyboard when I want to just use the device as a tablet. Connecting through Bluetooth is another turn off for me. I absolutely love the idea of the Smart Connector. It's just a shame more companies haven't adapted towards it like I thought they would after Apple released iPad Pro.

I must say, bluetooth isn't ideal, especially since I have to 'forget device' if I ever want to connect it to something else, but it is unsnappable! :) there's a magnetic snap on the keyboard and the provided case and it snaps on and off. However, if you often use your tablet in portrait mode without the keys then the added weight might prove to be an eventual strain on your wrist. No worries if you're a landscape user :)
