I think I made a mistake. The last time I swapped out my RX 6800 XT for my RX Vega 56 in my Razor Core X, I saw the below piece of material and removed it. I don't remember seeing it before and it was slightly askew, so I thought it might have came off one of my video cards. While playing a game last night, it seemed the Razor Core X's case got super hot and I don't believe this is normal. Not sure if I am crazy or not, but I don't want damage the unit.

Does anyone know what this piece of material is made of and how important it is? Also, does anyone know what I could replace it with?

That's Kapton tape. I can't say why it was there, but it's used as an electrical and thermal insulator. You could probably buy a roll of it on amazon. Unless it's covering up a thermal sensor or something, I kind of doubt it but maybe, I have a feeling it's not the cause of your issue. Good luck!

I replaced the Kapton tape on my Razor Core X:

Funny thing is, the Vega 56 still makes my enclosure super hot. The 6800 XT does not. So, I am using the 6800 again, since it is treating my enclosure better. Also, I have less graphical anomalies with the 6800. I had not used my Vega 56 since upgrading to Monterey. Too bad it acts worse than before (with Big Sur), but I am committed to seeing how Ventura handles both cards before ditching one for the other.
