Hello.

I just got a new RAZR V3c today, and was wondering what all I can do with it bluetooth wise...I tried to connect it to my macbook but all I seem to be able to do with it is put contacts on it. Is there any way to put mp3's on it as well??

Thanks!!

PS: I didnt know where to put this thread so I just thought this would be the best bet.

I have a RAZR phone and I've been able to export movies from iDVD to it and have placed ringtones on it I created in iTunes all through Bluetooth. However, my carrier is Cingular and their phones are supposedly more unlocked than other carriers.

Oh well, thanks for your help though...I've been looking online for the past hour and still no luck...

You can put Mp3's on you phone via bluetooth. But you only have a small amount of memory available, and a few (2 or 3) Mp3's will fill it up. The way to put a MP3 to a Razr phone is pair the phone and the computer first. Then in the menu bar on your computer, you'll see the bluetooth icon, click on it and selcect "send file". Once u do this, a pop box will appear for you to select the file you want to send (mp3), then select the device u want to send the file to (razr). This is a slow process, but it works.

I don't know what you mean buy more unlocked. If you want to see if your phone is unlocked, just place anohter SIM card in it, and if it works, your phone is unlocked.

I bought a Motorola MPx220 from Cingular's online store, and the phone was indeed unlocked. My brother was able to put his SIM card in my phone (he has Tmobile) and it worked fine.

Verizon blocked the usage of bluetooth file transfer, and many other computer connectivity functions on the V3c, as they do with most of their other phones. They don't want you to be able to transfer pictures and ringtones, because they want you to buy them through Get it Now and hand them the money. That's their strategy, and a reason why many people do not like Verizon.

Also, the Verizon version of the RAZR (the V3c) doesn't use a SIM card, as it's a CDMA phone, not GSM, hence the "c" in V3c.

Have you found a way to transfer contacts with the Razr and a Mac? I had a v710 and it would sync up fine, but I'm unable to back up or transfer my contacts with the Razr. Did Verizon mess this up also?

I've got a Powerbook w/bluetooth and a RAZR V3c from Verizon...I had the same issues, but now I transfer whatever I want (ringtones, wallpapers, etc.) This is the hack I use, it's AMAZINGLY helpful, and it really works...just use an mp3 editing program like Audacity or something to make the songs into smaller files so you can store more when transferring to your RAZR...here's the hack to do it, hope it helps...

Good luck

sorry to hijack

but I have a verizon razr for sale. It has the older verizon firmware on it, so it can copy anything seamlessly. the new version of the phones firmware does not alow it and from what ive heard from other people, its only been problems, such as taking a small hit in your pocket and shutting down and what not. so if anyone is interested. its a verizon rar, and I am located in Studio City Los Angeles. Your welcome to come check it out first. its in near perfect condition. I am asking 200 flat for it.

Mine doesn't work with the hack listed on that website either.

Look, there are whole threads devoted to fixing this on other message boards. Do Google searches for flashing your firmware to the Verizon .02 firmware. This will get you OBEX file transfer back. You have to use Windows to flash your phone back, and it requires pirating the Motorola phone tools package, so I'm not gonna tell you anything more specific. Find a friend who's a real Windows-head to help you out if need be. There are sources, there are guides, I've done it on my roommate's V3c and will be doing it on mine when I get it.

Extra fun: after doing this, take it back to the Verizon store and have them flash it straight to .04. Better UI speed and stability and (with the iSync hack) calendar syncing support from iCal, AND you get to keep the OBEX file transfer ability from .02—.04 doesn't explicitly write it out.

Check out Howardforums.com. Lots on info on this phone. You can seem edit it to get BT file transfer back on any firmware version.

I'll be getting this phone later in the summer, and will be flashing it to the Alltel firmware to get rid of the ugly VZW red UI.

Sorry, I'm a cell phone dork...

Besides the "HowardForums" here is another link to a Moto Modders Site and a link to the Razr;

Hope This Helps!!
