Probably not unless there is a crucial bug that needs fixing. Minor bugs will be postponed until 14.1

Currently I am assuming the final release will be different than RC1
If they do release and RC2 - that one will be the same as the release.

While I have no problems, I feel the UI is a bit on the slow side (I mean animations).
Maybe it's just me - but it doesn't feel like it's final - at least I am hoping to see some changes.

I thought there was a critical VPN bug in RC1?

One VPN provider claims there is a bug, but other VPN providers such as NordVPN state they have not run into any issues with Sonoma. That would indicate the issue is most likely with the VPN client itself rather than the OS - could be something as simple as the VPN conflicting with Private Relay instead of recognizing whether it's enabled or not.

I wonder about ExpressVPN that is the one I use.

Looks like it is Mullvad that is claiming this.

From what I can find, it appears that Mullvad is still relying on Packet Filtering when other VPNs are using the newer Network Extension framework Apple made available. What's concerning to me is that Mullvad is making it seem like every VPN is affected by this issue, even though others have already made the switch from PF to NEF.

I have the same thought. UI is more sluggish than Ventura. Notification Center especially took a performance dive. Unacceptable that there are this many frames dropping on an M1 Max

Update: RC2 fixed the sluggishness I was seeing. Assuming a debug flag was accidentally enabled in RC1

My understanding is that other (all?) consumer VPN clients use the packet filter, but not necessarily in the same way as Mullvad.

E.g. PIA say not affected by this particular pf bug. There said to be numerous pf bugs and hidden holes, many of which are for the benefit of Apple software.

Mullvad say that RC2 has fixed this pf bug.

I think macOS 14.0 (23A344) is "RC2"
