Planning to get MBA 2020. Does it make more sense to upgrade RAM or storage? Probably go with i5 model. Use: web browsing, MS applications, Streaming videos, video chat, some photo and video editing but not on a regular basis. No gaming.

I'd say you don't need to update either. 8GB base RAM is fine for most people and you've mentioned nothing that would benefit from 16GB. I can't comment on storage because it depends on how much stuff you have.

I wouldn't, the 2020 MBA has horrible thermal design, worth avoiding as id take the 2019 MBP or 16" over the 2020 air.
