I bought a new 27' iMac (i5) back just before they switched to Lion, so I'm running SL. Lately I have been dealing with a weird issue. Sometimes when I select "shutdown", instead of shutting down, it restarts. I have been careful to ensure that I'm selecting shutdown and not restart. Has anyone else had this problem?

Never had that problem? but it looks like it's just a little software bug. Upgrade to lion? or reinstall SL

had this on my old iMac (24" 3ghz ) never got to the bottom of it. my current mac has done it once or twice in the last year.

its like the terminator, you kill it but it just doesn't die.

you could always try repairing permissions and then restart holding down the 'command+option+p+r' keys for 3 chimes.

    that fixes most aberrations
