Hello,

Have a new iPhone SE and just bought, also, a Galvonix wireless recharger from Amazon.
Seems to work quite well, and re-charges thru the OtterBox iPhone case.

Question:

When I charge it overnight, is it important or necessary to shut the phone off first, or
simply leave on all the time, and just put on the stand (while on) for a nightly "topping off" ?

Any advantage if I shut off each night prior to ?

Why ?

Thanks,
Bob

There is no reason to turn the phone off overnight. It won't hurt the phone to leave it on all the time. In case of emergency, you also need to be able to accessible.

If the phone is off and you plug it into a charger, it will turn on the phone and boot it up. So that’s saying that Apple would rather have the phone on when charging.
Also when it’s on while charging, you can check the charge status.

There’s zero advice anywhere recommending turning off a phone while charging.
Technically you can do it and the charger will work since it’s independent of the OS, but there’s zero reason to do so.
