What is the best way to reinstall parallels without loosing all my XP data?

I know there is a uninstall function with parallels, but will this also delete my xp data?

It will not delete your XP data unless you delete the hdd file.

XP is stored in a virtual disk file (the hdd), and Parallels uses the virtual disk.

You can actually take that hdd file and put it on another computer running Parallels and have another version of XP which is exactly the same as the first.

I'm a Macintosh SysAdmin and that's how I do it every day for various users. I don't ever install XP anymore, I just install Parallels and copy the virtual disk onto the new machine, configure Parallels to see it and boom, you're done.

    Cheers.

    Parallels Bootup Issues

I have been having issues with booting up the Mac and it hangs up when Parallels is suppose to start. I always have to reboot (sometimes 4-5 times). Should we uninstall/reinstall Parallels. I have done the updates to 4.0.
The last time I booted up it came to this message: Unable to connect to Parallels Service. Make sure that prl_disp_service is running or check your firewall settings. If the problem persists, contact the Parallels support team for assistance. However, if I went to my applications folder I could open Parallels through there.

I had the same message after I installed Parallels after installing Snow Leopard. It turned out that I needed to update my Little Snitch software and then Parallels worked fine. Parallels support are aware of this problem and were quick to help me.
