In all seriousness I like the idea. I'm all for it

Doing a little bit of googling it looks like gif support is done mostly through extensions as it doesn't appear to be fully supported natively.

If MR added animated GIF capabilities, would there be any kind of filtering or screening to ensure the GIFs weren’t used to spread trackers, malware, viruses, and other types of attacks?

(MR team: personally, I like the lack of animated content on MR for many reasons.)
