Reactivating 4s

So I might keep the 4s.

Here's what I have:

My old 4 with new sim (taken from 4s) in it. Activated and working.

The old sim (from my 4). Not in any phone.

The new phone.

What do I need to do to get the new one to work?

Do I need to go to or call AT&T?
 
Shouldn't need to involve AT&T.

Backup iphone4 to itunes
Move SIM from iphone4 to iphone4S
Sync iphone4S to itunes

Unless AT&T is doing something wonky now, it should work fine.
 
One additional note -- when you restore a non-iphone4S backup to an iphone4S, Siri seems to come up as "Off" by default, just go to Settings and turn it on. Also go to Location Services and turn that on for Siri as well.

oh i wasnt even gonna restore.. kinda afraid id restore something bad.. all my data is in mobile me now cloud anyway.. check book app backs up off phone..

I read that also, but it wasn't the case with me. When I restored my 4S with a backup from my 4, Siri was indeed on by default. So I guess it's a YMMV thing.

Interesting. Clearly your experience and mine were different, so definitely a YMMV.

I'm curious; was your 4 on iOS5 or 4.x? Mine was on iOS5, so perhaps that made a difference?

who are U asking?

i decided to keep my 4s.. yesterday i called apple to see how to return the phone.. they sent me prepaid fedex labels by email ok no prob. today i called to cancel the return.. apparently from the way they were acting this has never been done for LOL..havent tried reactivating yet. (this outght to be good LOL) and i dont wanna do s restore.. wanna start fresh snd new
