Ready to buy Power Mac G5

Hi, I'm considering buying a Power Mac G5 for £200 this sunday from a friend. Is it a good buy?

1.6GHz Single Processor Model, 80GB Hard disk, 1.25GB RAM, SuperDrive, FW800

Provided it's in good nick, that sounds like a very good price.

Well yes it is I've always loved the design. I think its a good price.

if you're buying it for the design, go ahead

but if you want biggest bang for your buck, the intel mini's are better

I would love to have an old G5 like that to play around with. $400 sounds like a good deal.

Well okay, I went for it and bought both of them. Great design. I just fell in love with them.

What surprised me the most was the interior design. Its really amazing from the inside. It's only 1.6Ghz but I can up the Hard drive (its SATA) and RAM up to 4GB so its no biggy.

It's a solid machine 😀 even though its from 2003 and PPC

congrats on the new PowerMac...but don't expect it to be faster than any intel machine with 2GB RAM or more
