When I try to play bbc news videos and the following message gets displayed:-

"The page “BBC News Player” has content of MIME type “audio/x-pn-realaudio-plugin”. Because you don’t have a plug-in installed for this MIME type, this content can’t be displayed."

This method has always worked before with apple but now doesn't work on either my apple powerbook or new intel iMac. I've tried to download plug ins with no success. I've read that others have similar problems. Any solutions please?????

I got this a few weeks ago. After investigating on the web, the solution was to start up GarageBand. Apparently GarageBand resets some audio device when it starts up, and that cures the problem.

Worth a try.
