An SD card is pretty thin, it doesn't seem that impossible to fit it in though.

And Apple soldering RAM on Mac mini, there is no justification on thinness there, it's just a profit scheme.

How do you know? Are you an engineer? What makes you qualified to make this judgement?
 
And you can still use devices currently owned. Either with a replacement cable or a dongle.
It isn't like there are no options.
Apple hasn't stopped selling the older models yet. They may even upgrade the older models with the legacy for another refresh or two. If you bought a 2015 MBP you shouldn't even be looking at the 2016 MBP.

Apple I/O has always been an issue. But the 2016 MBP till now has been a bad issue. HDMI is thin, magsafe is thin, SD card is thin. It is really annoying.
