Realistic delivery time of iPad2?

Apple online says 1-2 weeks of delivery time.
I placed an order, and now it gave me 5/16 as shipping date and 5/17 as delivery date.

Are those dates rather accurate?
For those who placed orders online, did they deliver as they estimated?

I am leaving the country right around that time, I want to make sure I have it beforehand.
 
Ordered mine April 20th.

Going to ship May 4th.

Delivered by May 10th.

So yes, it seems about right.
 
Im wondering the same thing. Ordered April 22. Ship date May 6, Deliver May 7. When ordering I assumed it would come from somewhere in the US. Then I come on here and find out it ships from overseas. No way is it making its way from China, to Northern Virginia in 24 hours. Kind of interested to see how this plays out.
 
Ordered mine April 18

Shipped May 2nd
Early am.
Promised ship was may 4th

Delivered by May 5th
Promised was may 6th
So yes, it seems about right, they are doing better than promised.
 
I don't know what is going on I ordered on 21-Apr and the estimates were

Ships: 5-May
Delivers 6-May

It stayed like this until I checked it last time before the store went down and they changed the delivery date who knows why:

Ships: 5-May
Delivers: 14-May

It is not the end of the world but I really don't like it. I will order from B&H next time.

Prepared for shipment this morning.

Looks like it went from a delivery of May 7th, to May 12th. Still ships on May 6th. This makes more sense, I just wish Apple had originally posted something more realistic.

Received shipping notification two days earlier than scheduled:

Last Location:
Departed - EPZ, China, Tuesday, 05/03/2011

Shipping date 5/16.

Delivery date 5/18.

My question is: Will Apple ever change your ship date to be SOONER if they have the inventory, or do they stick with what they give you?

If possible, usually, they ship well before their estimates.

Update: the smart cover shipped today. Damn, wtf am I going to do with a smart cover without an ipad. It's just going to mock and piss me off waiting for the freakin ipad :mad:
 
Ordered mines on Apr 24, and is expected to ship out May 09. I'm guessing it will ship out by Thursday/Friday since it seems like Apple is early with shipping out iPad 2s.

In transit this morning 2 days early!
 
Mines changed to Prepared for Shipment today. Still says Ships: May 09, Delivers: May 13. Is it most likely mines will get shipped out today?

you're lucky. I have the same dates (ships on 9th and delivers by 13th) but mine still says Not Yet Shipped.
