got two questions:

fact that apple recently added the new graphic cards as an option would this mean they update the macbook again this september

also for an average user who plays only skyrim and does alot of surfing, watch movies, work, remote access from home, would it be wise to just get a 560x or vega 20?

No one knows when Apple will update anything. It could be in the summer like the last two years or the fall like the previous to that. Doubtful it will be the spring, but you never know! There is also no guarantee of a 2019 model at all. At this moment, I would see little reason to wait if you are ready to buy.

As for 560x vs Vega 20, the Vega 20 is definitely faster, and by a good amount. If I had the cash and was willing to spend it, I would be tempted. Having said that, would you notice a difference? Skyrim would play at a faster frame rate and/or higher settings. The rest would be the same.

You make sense

I really dont think they wil release a 2019

We wanted a powerful gpu they added that as an option TICK

Macbooks and alot of others are running the 8th gen they are up to date tick

The ice lake are coming late 2019 and always delay so they wont update to that yet

I will buy it as to be honest i dnt see it comin

Even though it comes i think vega 20 will run me for a while

I agree with this, there’s a good chance we don’t see a 2019 MacBook Pro, or at least not until the end of the year. I would bet the focus will be on releasing an iMac refresh more than a MacBook Pro refresh.

To the OP, I honestly wouldn’t wait if you want to get a new computer. The 2018 model is going to be as good as it gets until the full redesign comes out in 2020 or 2021, at least IMO.

So inbetween the 1050 and 1060.

Between 1050 Ti and 1060, yes, but closer to 1050 Ti. I wouldn't mix the the 1050 and 1050 Ti though, since performance delta between the too is rather substantial.

Edit: Also, its 1050 Ti, not 1050 Ti Max-Q. Nvidia's GPU landscape is rather confusing these days and their marketing strategy is al about obfuscation. Basically, the Vega Pro 20 beats the GPU in the Dell XPS 9570 by 15-20%

And on top of that each has configurable TDP and by a wide margin, overlapping each other, so 2080 max-q may be slower than 2070.

Wow... I didn’t realize how much of a difference it was. The Vega 20 destroys the 560X. Damn... maybe time to sell my 2017 with 560.
iv got it it isn't that much difference regardless what the figures show...quite a weak graphics card to be honest
