My ipad has developed a really annoying fault & I'm wondering if I should take it to the apple store for repair? Whenever I am using it it constantly asks for my apple I'd . I can cancel it & it goes away for a while or if I enter my I'd it just returns instantly! Is this indeed a fault ? I am told user es cannot make any deep resets with this thing such as you can do on a PC with the registry for example?

I would try a reset first which will restore the device back to factory defaults. If you take it to Apple it's all they will do as this is a software not hardware fault.

That happens when an app is stuck downloading. Look through all of your apps to see if anything is downloading. If not, try to reset it by holding down the home and power button until the apple logo appears.
