Yes I shouted! I'd like to punch this computer right now.
I am just trying to make 1 page of all the same label (for my home based business brochures)
I read all the posts I could about creating template blah blah - easier then it sounds!

I really miss Word - could just type 1 label - tell it to print as a label equivelant to Avery 8160 & done. No thinking or measuring for me...UUUGHH!

I think I will have to shell out for Windows/Office for Mac. I am just doing the free trial of Pages etc right now. This thing mifht be good for pictures; but that's it.

Try OpenOffice v3 - unlike v2, it has a native look and feel (no more X11), and it does just about everything MS Word does - for free!

If it doesn't meet your needs, then buying Office for Mac would be a good idea. Just a warning, OpenOffice is a 165 MB download, and takes up about 320 MB when installed.

Yeah... I can't figure out templates either.

Despite that, I love Pages (and Keynote for that matter.) The interface is so much cleaner than Word. And I really can't say there's anything missing that I want. (But then, I'm not what you would call very... professional?) Now with Numbers... it's a different story unfortunately. It's missing way too many features that Excel has. (Like plotting multiple graphs in the same grid.) I actually use Numbers more for that really cool print lay out than anything else (like when I have a bunch of designs I want to print out on the same page... or if there's a really big one that I want to divide in a particular spot so that the seam between pieces of paper will be as unnoticeable as possible.))

@Art: Gotta bear in mind that Keynote is 4.0, Pages is 3.0, and Numbers is 1.0. There has been plenty of time for Apple to make improvements to Keynote and Pages but Numbers is practically "new." Go to www.apple.com/feedback and comment on the features you want included.
