Im currently transferring 387GB of data from Documents to WD My studio 2 via FW800.

I did the same back up yesterday using a WD USB3 2TB Essentials and it did it in within 4 hours (USB 2).

Why is it taking so long? Is this a sign of a dead hdd?

I made a back up of my documents and want a second as im doing a fresh install....

EDIT! it now says 9 days!

Try to wait for a few more minutes and see if the progress bar completion time becomes shorter as the copying goes on. Like the days will become hours as the copying progresses.
