Really Slow transfers !!!

can anyone please help!!

since upgrading to leopard i am getting extremely slow transfer speeds whether this be from my internal to my external drive or across a network the speed average 1mb a second. i have verified the disk repaired permissions and nothing helps..

i have enabled appletalk disabled smb. you name it i have tried it. (maybe not everything you can name 🙂 )

i am at a loss i am convinced things where faster in tiger.

20" imac core 2 duo. 2 gig ram 250 gig hdd (166gb free)

I've noticed this too. Importing things into iTunes and iPhoto takes longer than I expect it to. Starting apps seems to take longer than I would hope too.
