Just since this morning, I have not gotten any message notifications on my series 3 watch, running os 5. I've checked the notification settings on phone and watch and they seem to be in order; rebooted watch and phone, still nothing.

Other notifications come through just fine
 
I have been having this problem for five days.

Messages are sporadic at best. Went through support with chat.. no help. Went to apple store, of course all the messages were all working fine.

Im sitting here trying to diagnose. One minute they’ll work fine, the next they won’t.

Today I exchanged the watch. Did a new install. Still having the issue! This is driving me mad. I can’t believe such a simple fuction is not working on a brand new watch and a brand new phone.

I re-paired the watch with my phone (twice) and seems to be working consistently now; not sure if it was that or something else that set it straight (moon, stars, planets?).
 
I’ve been having this same problem on my new watch as well. It’s baffling. Everything was perfectly fine on my Series 2.
