The other half watches a lot of video on her iPad; mainly BBC iPlayer, YouTube-distributed news such as RT, and YouTube music videos.

I dont mind, but the iPad audio drives me up the wall, it's sooo tinny, especially at the volume he's has it.

Can anyone recommend a reasonably cheap, reasonably decent, external speaker (clip on or free standing), connects via Bluetooth or wifi? No, I don't want a sonos, just something reaonsbaly small that she hasn't no excuse not to use when she's stood at the table preparing my dinner/washing up, whilst watching Daily Politics...

My sister bought me a scullcandy speaker for Christmas. No idea of the cost but it connects via Bluetooth. I like the sound because it seams to have a lot of base compared to say the oontz. My wife got the oontz for herself for Christmas and that has a bit of a tinny sound. Hers is the oontz angle I think it's called.
Hope this helps.
