I'm in the same dilemma. I don't NEED a MBP till like (June/Julyish) but I want one really bad but my greatest fear is that if I buy it now then I'm going to regret not waiting for the new MBP. The main things I do on my iMac is play World of Warcraft, Adobe Design Premium CS3 (don't plan on getting CS4), and iLife. I may get Final Cut Pro and I'm going to get Diablo 3 when it comes out. If I were to buy the 15 inch 2.4ghz MBP and add 4 gigs of Ram from crucial.com do you guys think I will be able to run most of these programs? I figure I can because my Imac is only 2.4ghz with 2gigs of ram but I don't wanna make a dumb decision:)

If your current MB works for what you're using it for, continue to use it. If you're doing a lot of CS work, chances are you're probably doing it at a desk hooked up to an external monitor.

Continue to use the MB until it no longer serves it's purpose. It's too slow, not enough memory, needs a bigger hd, has a dead battery, won't handle the new program you want to use, etc. And even out of these reasons, only the first one really counts, since you can spend relatively trifling amounts to fix the other deficiencies.

I really can't see from your post a compelling reason to get a MBP except to say that you want it. And for what it's worth, I truly empathize with you; do what I say...

By the time your macbook no longer cuts it for you, you'll be able to buy an even newer model with better features for the same price point. Tell yourself you'll wait until 10.6 comes out, and then see what features it has.

^ Clydes right, don't buy something you don't actually need.

I'd put it in a different way though.......

............ only a numnut buys something they don't need !.

Would I go buy a lorry load of potatoes when I only need enough to make a plate of chips , no . If I did I'd be a Numbnut ! . so I don't , I buy a bag full and then buy some more when I need it.

Or say would you buy a mansion when all you actually need is a 3 bed semi detached ? no, cos if I did, I'd be a , yes that's right, a numbnut !.

Whats goin on, I don't get this at all , why are people wanting to buy something they don't need ,just don't get that, I'm all for nice stuff and this n that but spending so much money on something you do no need is KHJGKUYFHGMDMHCTMHDF .

Everything

Pretty much everything about the new machine is a treat. Design, trackpad, speed. It also serves as a stove in case you get hungry. The 9600GT is a beast of a card considering how small the machine is. Oh yeah.. size.

You will certainly appreciate it for sure, as long as you can justify the expense.
