Hello all,
Hope you are doing well.
For some time I want to have a new battery for my PB G4. It has been an impossible find, so together with a friend that knows how to solder, we are going to try to rebuild one of the dead original ones I have laying around.
I already read some old threads here, but not 100% sure which 18650 cells to buy.
Question 1) flat top or with tabs to solder? My friend only has an "ordinary" soldering iron.
Question 2) should I choose with Circuit protection or not?
Question 2) Which brand/model should I look far? I don't want shady cells, so far from reading on the threads I've found the following models:
Panasonic NCR18650A -
LG HG2
Sanyo NCR18650BF

Kinda don't know what to choose, between mah (from my understanding the higher the better) but discharging current, since I can see for example panasonic NCR18650 available in different mah and discharging currents.

If anyone can help and share their experiences would be amazing.
From some older posts I see that these PB G4s 12 used sony sf18650gr cells. And that newertech batteries for it, used panasonic ncr18650.

Have a great day
