I received a refurb iPad 4 for Christmas, it is running iOS 6.1.3

I am having trouble making up my mind if I should leave it on iOS 6 or move up to iOS 7. I am running 7 on my iPhone and I am overall pretty happy with it, but not blown away by any means. I have heard there may be more bugs/issues with 7 on an iPad then there is on the iPhone.

Honestly no. I like iOS 7 on my iPhone but 7.0.4 isn't great on my iPad. I'm on 7.1 beta 2 on my iPad and it's much better than 7.0.4. If your UDID isn't registered or you're not a developer I'd wait for 7.1 if I were you. Just my $0.02.

That is good to hear, reading through the forum I was thinking that iOS7 was not quite ready for prime time on an iPad.

Thanks for that as well, no way to get the 7.1 beta.

Why not return it and make up the difference for an Air? An iPad 4 is basically a slightly faster iPad 3, but the iPad Air is a redesign and improved internals.

No issues here either with iOS 7.0.4 on my iPad 4.

Thanks more than happy with the 4.
I think I am leaning to just upgrading, it's not like I will stay on 6 forever. Thanks for the help.

I love 7.0.4 on my iPad 4. Only have 1 issue that I have seen on MULTIPLE iPad 4s: When you double press home button, it brings up the task switcher. Ocassionally, when I try to bring it up, the iPad crashes. It turns off and restarts in about 5 seconds, not a full on reboot. I try to stay away from the task switcher as much as possible thanks to it. And this has happened on multiple iPads.

    Still, I prefer ios7 to ios6.
