    DENTED & SCRATCHED!

This has not been a good Mac "FIRST EXPERIENCE" for me.

Think they will replace it? It feels used to me. After spending 2,200 bucks, I was expecting perfection out of the box.

Agreed, call Apple and send it back. I have never seen or heard of that.

    They're closed right now.

I guess its after hours... I'm so saddened by this. I just got it today, and the box was totally fine! I'm wondering if this happened during the BUILT TO ORDER process? GRRR...

    :/

Will they send a new one at first, or will have to send this one in and be without a computer, and possibly wait another month?

Might they not say 'You could have dented that yourself and just wanted a new one, you cannot prove that it was dented before you recieved it'...?

Most countries have laws saying if you order something delivered, you have the right to send it back within a few days, no reason needed. Act quickly and you'll be fine.

Here, the OP is saying it arrived in a damaged condition. Notify Apple as quickly as possible, ideally within 24 hours, and almost certainly within a week, and they will sort it out.

    Easy.

The base has no scratches at all where that ding is!

    These are manufacturer defects.

I'm guessing they gave this thing to some lazy tech, who didn't care what he/she was doing during the built to order process.

It does run fine, but it just really pisses me off that they would try to pass this off on the customer.

I'm not rich, and this was very expensive!

i feel for you. i hope you get a replacement immediately, so you can give us i7 iMac possible buyers information, how the good (and hopefully not bad) the iMac is.

The Apple logo the other way around? That's strange. I wonder how the WiFi will work then? (the WiFi antenna is under the logo)

    No, it's right!

Not sure why it came out backwards in the picture. I took that one with photobooth and a webcam.

    Other than that...

I am really enjoying this iMac and OSX. I really don't plan on going back to windows anytime soon.

    I talked to Apple today.

They are sending me a new one, no questions asked. They were very cool about it, and told me that scratches/dents are unacceptable.

They will also be sending the new one overnight, free of charge!

I am a very happy camper. Thank you, Apple!

I'm sure that was a joke, with Photobooth, the pictures come out backwards.

    Glad you got it fixed.

Make sure you get a free remote! Make a fuss..that's absurd. I recently bought an Euphonix MC Mix and it had a scratch on it. Very slight and cosmetic, and I had too many projects to do so I left it. But something of this magnitude I would kick up a storm about.

    Yay!

Well, i got me new iMac, and its 100% perfect this time.

Apple was also nice enough to even give me the Black Friday discount, since my iMac was sitting in their warehouse limbo. (my argument)

    Hi BP

I will be getting my i7 in January, and will post up a review then geared towards musicians. I fun a full set of EWQL plugins while running a video over it (I write for picture) so I'll be sure to run it through it's paces!

I decided to wait on pulling th i7 trigger. Apple seems to have some issues to work out. Nothing that seems insurmountable but I will wait a little longer.
