That's weird. Mine needs to come to Fort Worth but they took it to Memphis when they had another flight coming up to Fort Worth.

I think mine is in with your group and I was surprised to see it go from Alaska to Oakland. Mine is headed for San Diego. So I guess this will deliver Wednesday or Thursday. I haven't seen my stuff go this route before.

I bet a 777 can hold one or two iPads. But they do have limits although I noticed on flight aware that fedex had 181 flights in the air around 11 central.

I've been wondering though if prepared to ship might actually mean they have assigned your order a number on the line rather than actually put it in a box. They seem to be taking too long to pick up for them to just be sitting there. But then again, maybe they just don't have enough trucks to haul them to the airport. That's a lot of pad hauling.

It depends on the plane, amount of fuel, and other variables.

For example... If it's the MD-11f, then the gross payload is 202,100 lbs.

The weight of my iPad shipment is 2.9 lbs. So 202,100 / 2.9 = (approx) 69,689 iPads per flight. (theoretically.) This doesn't take into account the weight of package containers / cages, fuel, etc.

Each fedex plane into the US isn't exclusively iPads, it's a mix of all sorts of fedex packages.

IMO, capacity isn't an issue. They seem a much higher package volume during the holiday season.

My iPad has landed in Indy. Be nice to see it make it to Eastern Ohio for delivery Wednesday afternoon, but seems doubtful. Can't imagine it making it to the other side of Columbus from Indy in 12 hours.
