Mine arrived today. So, I ordered on 3/17 at 11:51AM PST White WiFi 16GB
Originally planned to ship 4/21, deliver by 4/26.

It arrived today 4/14 at noon in Tempe. It went from Alaska to Indy to Phx to Tempe to me.

So, now I have 2, one for my wife for our anniversary (the one I got from today) and the 16GB Black WiFi I was able to buy from Target (with RED card 5% off) locally just in case the White one didn't get here in time.

It's so hard to resist the urge to keep the extra one for myself. I was going to return it, but I'm going to sell it to a friend at work who has decided he wants one. No profit, just full price, so I can "keep" my 5% discount.

So, now I have 2 units just sitting hiding in a closet. The temptation to open it has been so hard for the last week. I can't give it to my wife quickly enough so we can actually begin to play with it!

No departure time unfortunately. Guess I'm looking at a Monday or Tuesday delivery.

Not that im a fedex expert or anything.. but chances are you are correct...
Mine was in alaska, "in transit" for almost 24 hours before i actually got "Departed Fedex Location" and a time that matched up with a flight to the closest hub (newark for me, but also can be indy, memphis, etc)...

Sit tight!! your wait is almost over!!!

Since shipping and taking packages. I notice a few things Fedex has the fastest, most airplanes and the biggest hubs. Anything that goes on the plane will get to where it needs to go fast. They have the fastest supply chain second to USPS. I work USPS Christmas and found a few things. USPS uses Fedex to move their air mail/packages going farther distances. USPS has the best ground network. UPS is middle ground. When UPS gives you a date they stick with it. They don't move packages as fast as USPS and Fedex can. The only thing that I like about UPS is Worldport. Which is one of the best Hubs in the world.

My buddy got his ipad in like 4 days from prep for ship to delivery today... And he's on the Central Coast in Cali...
Me? I'm in Alaska, like the first stop in the USA and I'm 7 days away???

are you in a major city. Sounds like a rural root for UPS. That number can be play with these few factors like where the factory is located. Where are the hubs and where the airport is.
Newark flight from anchorage has landed. Now the waiting game starts.

By Fairbanks, Ak... Just a few hour drive north of Anchorage... I can call and have em hold it in Anchorage and go pick it up if it'll speed things lol...
 
Finally a change in status!

Ordered March 19th, around noon:

Just went prepared for shipment.

ETA: Bad news is instead of putting it on the gift card I bought it with they wiped out my checking account.

ETA2: Called Apple and the guy on the phone was really nice, got the charges fixed and even called my bank to get the charge off right away while I was on the phone. Said they were really sorry and wanted to make sure my iPad experience is a totally positive one so he is sending me a wireless keyboard and dock for free! I was shocked! I hadn't been at all testy or anything (he was fixing my problem after all so no need to be upset.) My Already high opinion of Apple customer service has gone even higher.

Darn! Sitting in Newark since 2:38AM, doesn't look like it will make it to Boston for a delivery today. Is Fed Ex delivering Monday (holiday)?

Yep I'm in the same boat. Ordered at the same time, from Toronto. 64gb black wifi. Was originally going to ship 22nd, arrive on the 29th, but I checked after I read your post and it has changed to the 28th also. Ah! Seems like everyone else is getting theirs. Do you know if they ship out weekends?! I hope so....really want it by the end of next week.

Well my iPad was indeed on FDX14 yesterday (Taiwan to Alaska) and is now still sitting in Alaska. I'm hopeful for a Monday delivery but the estimates are still for Tuesday of course.

Out for delivery!! It came through Fort Worth (makes sense, but I expected Memphis because I don't think they have a Fort Worth/Austin flight) and rode in a truck for the last leg.

The FedEx delivery estimate for this was Mar 31, but I got it 2 days early. I expect the iPad should arrive a couple days early as well. Mon or Tues.

This is also my 2nd iPad 2 and a gift for my mother-in-laws 60th birthday.

The first one I bought for my wife for our anniversary. I got it from the Apple store on 3/31 by arriving at 6am (2nd person in line) and bought it at 8:45am when they opened up for iPad sales.

Cool. I'm from Toronto too. Seems like our iPads are going to be travel buddies the whole way here. :D I'm hoping the for the same thing thing tbh. I really want my iPad ><
